Police Stray Bullet kills Man in Jos

Personnel of the Nigeria police Command in Jos reportedly shot dead a young man in Jos, Plateau State on Monday.

www.samsonomale.com gathered that the incident happened at Terminus, Ahmadu Bello way in the central business district of the state capital.


Our correspondent reports that a yet-to-be identified man was killed when the police officers Purportedly attempted to enforce the ban on the operation of commercial motorcycle operations within the Jos- Bukuru Metropolis


Eyewitnesses say the incident, allegedly degenerated when the okada riders attempted to resist what they described as extortion from men of the Nigerian Police, C Division which led to the police shooting into the air to scare and disperse the riders and growing crowd.


Unfortunately a stray bullet hit a man in one of the storey building housing several shops killing him instantly.


That led to the riders and aggrieved persons barricading a section of the Ahmadu Bello raising tensions in the area.


Normalcy has since returned to the area with reinforcements of security personal to forestall any further breakdown of Law and order.


The Police authorities are yet to confirm the incident.
