The Plateau State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has affirmed the victory of Governor Caleb Mutfwang of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the March 18th governorship election held in the state.
The tribunal dismissed the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate, Nentawe Yilwada Goshwe
Mr. Nentawe had approached the Tribunal challenging the declaration of Governor Mutfwang by INEC as Governor of Plateau State.
He alleged that as at the time of the election Governor Mutfwang, He was not qualified to contest having not been validly nominated and sponsored by his party (PDP) as the party had no structure as at the time of the said election.
The tribunal in its Judgement held that no matter how disgruntled another person feels on the conduct of another party's primaries, it must keep mum as it is not a member of that party.
Such a person therefore, lacks the locus Standi to challenge such a congress or primary election
The Tribunal dismissed the Petition for lacking in merit.
