Jos, Nigeria — The Plateau State Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has called on residents and key stakeholders to actively participate in the development of the Greater Jos Master Plan (2025–2050), a long-term blueprint aimed at transforming the city.

The Ministry, in collaboration with Max Lock Nigeria & Partners, announced that a Stakeholder Engagement Forum will be held on April 16, 2026, in Jos at the Millennium International Event Centre.
A statement was signed by Sylvanus Dongtoe, Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development said the forum is expected to convene government officials, private sector players, community leaders, and residents to contribute ideas and insights that will shape the future of the city.
According to the Ministry, the Greater Jos Master Plan is designed as a strategic framework to reposition Jos as a safer, more structured, and economically vibrant urban centre.
Key focus areas include infrastructure development, improved security, strengthened urban planning systems, and enhanced quality of life for residents.
Officials emphasised that stakeholder engagement is critical to the success of the initiative, noting that the process is intended to ensure the plan reflects the needs, aspirations, and realities of the people.
The forum will also provide an opportunity for inclusive dialogue, fostering a sense of shared responsibility and collective ownership in the city’s development.
Residents and members of the public have been encouraged to attend and participate actively, as their contributions will play a vital role in shaping a sustainable and inclusive future for Jos.
