The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in Saturday's Presidential Election, Peter Obi Says he won the election and he will explore all legal options to reclaim his mandate.
Peter Obi was Speaking for the first time since the conclusion of the Presidential and National assembly elections on Saturday.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Tinubu polled 8,794,726 and was declared President-Elect on Wednesday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Addressing a group of Journalists in Abuja the Nation's capital, Peter Obi said, "if you must be referred to as "Your Excellency," then the process through which you arrived in office must be excellent"
He also said himself and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed remain committed to a new Nigeria.
According to Him, the poll did not meet the minimum standard for a free and fair election, adding that the poll will go down as the most controversial election conducted in Nigeria.
Mr. Obi added that "The people we're fighting against have decided that we'll not succeed but we've also decided that we'll succeed"
He took time to encourage his base, the youth who came out in record numbers to vote for him not to despair assuring them that he is in the political space for the long haul.
