President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reshuffled his official schedule to prioritize a visit to Jos, Plateau State, in response to recent deadly attacks that claimed several lives.

The visit is aimed at expressing solidarity with affected communities and the state government.

Originally, the President was billed to travel to Iperu in Ogun State on Thursday to inaugurate the Gateway International Cargo Airport. However, that engagement has now been deferred to later in the week.

The Plateau visit marks the commencement of a four-state tour that combines project commissioning, humanitarian outreach, and holiday observances. After Jos, Tinubu is expected to proceed to Lagos to observe Good Friday.

The President will then travel to Ogun State on Saturday, April 4, where he is scheduled to commission the Gateway International Cargo Airport and unveil two cargo aircraft to boost trade and logistics. He will also inaugurate a new facility for the Nigerian Customs Service’s Federal Operations Unit, along with a fleet of operational vehicles.

After the Ogun visit, Tinubu will return to Lagos for the Easter celebrations. While in the state, he is expected to commission several major infrastructure projects completed under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, including the Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information System building, a modern school complex, and a Multi-Agency Complex named in his honour.

The final leg of the tour will take the President to Bayelsa State on April 10, where he will join Governor Duoye Diri to commission additional projects. He is expected to return to Abuja at the end of the visit.

The Presidency says the tour underscores the administration’s commitment to strengthening national security while driving development across the states.
