Jama'atu Nasril Islam Condemns Mangu Killings and Road Blockade

The Plateau State chapter of Jama'atu Nasril Islam - JNI, has condemned what it calls "the intractable security situation in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State".

The religious body has also expressed fears that, unless the situation is brought under control urgently, it may continue to escalate.

In a press statement signed by the Secretary of JNI Plateau State, Salim Musa Umar, the group called on the security agencies to do everything possible to ensure that road blockages by non State actors along the Mangu areas are stopped because several innocent travelers have fallen victims and have lost their lives from the road blockades.

JNI wants Security agents to act professionally and take full control of traffic and vehicular movements along the roads at all times to give travelers and commuters some sense of security.

The statement further appealed to the Plateau State Government to act proactively in addressing the issues connected as well as the deployment of more efficient security measures to contain this altercations and restore sanity to the State for socioeconomic growth and development.

While calling for calm and peace, JNI has condoled with the families that lost their loved ones as well as commiserating with those that lost their properties.
