Governor Mutfwang gave the advice during a meeting with some of the absorbed workers on Tuesday in Jos.

The workers had worked across the tertiary institutions on an ad-hoc basis for between 10 to 20 years. They were also paid a paltry monthly salary of between N6,000 to N15,000The governor explained that his administration suspended the employment exercise conducted by the previous administration due to lack of inclusivity and due process.

“When we came on board, we discovered that none of you was given a permanent employment

“So, we felt that it is wicked, ungodly and immoral.

“What we did was to suspend the entire exercise so that we can look into all the complaints and injustices that were done.

“Our interest is to see that these institutions have the kind of workers that will train the quality of students we want to see in the future,” he said.

Mufwang, who thanked the workers for their resilience, promised to compensate them for their years they worked as casual workers.

He, however, tasked them on self development towards optimal performance in the various institutions.

The governor, who promised to continually prioritise the welfare of workers in the state, expressed his desire towards a well functional and productive civil service.

Earlier, Mr Sati Josiah, the leader of the workers, thanked Mutfwang for considering the majority of the ad-hoc workers in the recent recruitment exercise across the state owned tertiary institutions.

He commended the governor for standing for the masses and ensuring due process during the recruitment exercise
