The Plateau state Police command has arrested a suspect who released a video calling for violence and mayhem ahead of the Planned August Protest.
The suspect identified as one Suleiman Yakubu, a resident of Jos North, Plateau State was seen in a TikTok video inciting the public to attack security operatives and burn down critical State and private infrastructures in Plateau State as part of the activities for the protest.
The Suspect in the video was seen addressing those he called Guys "on Monday i think we should begin by the burning the useless filing stations in Jos North, Jos South, Jos East, Jos west then the following day we should move to the bigger markets".
Following the release of a TikTok video which was laced with specific messages encouraging violence, the Plateau State Police Command trailed and arrested the author of the inciting video on Sunday.
While in police custody, the suspect confessed to being the one in the video linked to a Tik Tok account, identified as "Dam-Mallam68".
The Police in a statement by the , Police Public Relations Officer (Ppro) , DSP Alfred Alabo confirmed that the suspect has made useful confessions while investigation is ongoing.
DSP Alfred Alabo, reminded citizens in the state that the Police will intensely resist any attempt by mischief makers to plunge the State in to chaos.
He said the Police Commissioner harped on the need for the peace in the state to remain untampered before, during and after the protest.
