2023: 19 Aspirants in Plateau State Pick PDP Gubernatorial Nomination Forms

The Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic party says 19 aspirants have picked the party's gubernatorial nomination forms as at 3pm on Saturday.



The state party chairman, Christopher Adukuchili Hassan made the disclosure while addressing the the 85th State Executive Committee, (SEC) meeting of Plateau PDP held on Saturday in Jos.


Hon. Hassan said 137 aspirants have picked the nomination forms as at Saturday to contest for the 24 available seats in the state house of assembly.


The State Executive Committee meeting was called to address critical issues that affect the party as it prepares for the 2023 general elections, chief amongst them is the zoning of the gubernatorial seat.


A communique issued at the end of the 85th SEC meeting and signed by the PDP State Publicity Secretary, Mr John Akans, said the party took a decision to zone the governorship seat to the central senatorial district of the state.


“As regards the preparation for the forthcoming general elections in 2023, SEC unanimously approves the zoning of governorship seat to Plateau Central Senatorial District.
“SEC commends the efforts of the state leadership of the party and other various organs of our great party; the Caucus, National Assembly members, elders’ forum, and the structure of the party at the ward, local government, and zonal levels".

Plateau central Senatorial zone through Solomon Bulus Maren applauded and appreciated the SEC for the confidence, trust and the opportunity given to the zone to produce the next Governor of the State.


The 6 point communique also commended the efforts of the State Leadership of the party and other various organs of our great party: the Caucus, the National Assembly members, the elders forum and the structure of the Party at the ward, local government and zonal l


However, the SEC condemned what it described as the incompetence, insincerity, corruption and insensitivity of the Lalong- led APC administration in the state, resulting in untold hardships, daily killings and increasing insecurity in the State.


The communique noted with delight that Plateau people and indeed Nigerians are at this moment looking up to the Peoples Democratic Party with great hope for solutions to all the predicaments this present administration has caused. It therefore urges all party members to remain resolute in the vision and mission of the party to Rescue and Rebuild Plateau State.
